Health Policy provides a strong interdisciplinary theoretical foundation drawing from political science, political economy, law, sociology, gender studies, and ethics to critically assess social, cultural and health systems and contribute to policy research, development and implementation at all levels of society and within health systems. BScN York's School of Nursing’s stand- alone 4-Year Direct Entry Program offers all four years at York’s Keele campus and is designed for students who have no previous nursing education. Interprofessional thinking and collaboration are integrated throughout the program, culminating in a nursing capstone course which aligns with a final practicum experience. Graduates receive a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree enabling graduates to write the registration exam approved by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
York's Internationally Educated Nurse (IEN) program is specifically designed for internationally educated nurses who are not currently registered in Ontario. If you are a dedicated, skilled nurse registered outside of Canada and hoping to continue your nursing career in Ontario, this program is a good fit for you. The IEN program takes only 20 months to complete as a full-time student and includes English language support and mentorship. You will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN degree) and will be qualified to take your Canadian Registered Nurses Exam.
Undergraduate ProgramThe full-time second-entry BScN program is available to students who have completed a minimum of 60 credits towards any university degree and who meet the program prerequisites. By studying in the concentrated and continuous six semester program, students can complete their BScN in two calendar years and will graduate in the fall after the second summer semester. This is a full time program and there is no part time option available.
